Consigning Questions

Who can consign?
Anyone who has items that meet the Tagging & Receiving Guidelines.

Where do I go to pick up my tags?
Tags can be picked up in the Young Adults Classroom which is Room #125.  This is the same room that we have always used for handing out tags.  You can print a map of the church facility to find the location of this room. Click Here for map.

How much do consignors earn?
Consignors earn 70% of the sales price and Kids’ Korner receives 30% of the sales price.

How much does it cost to register as a consignor and when is the fee paid?
$6 CASH & this fee is paid when you pick up your tags.

What if I have items that I want to donate – not consign.  Can I just give them to the church to sell?
Absolutely.  You will just need to call or email us.  You might also want to check out our VBP (Very Busy Person) Consigning option.

How do I tag my items?
This information can be found in our Tagging & Receiving Guidelines.

Can I print my own tags or use tags from another consignment sale?
Unfortunately, no.  We  have our tags professionally printed & cut so that all the tags look the same and are the same size.  We also only order a set number of tags per sale based on the amount of merchandise that we can accommodate in the church gym.

Can I re-use my tags from a previous Kids’ Korner sale?
Absolutely!  You even have the same seller number from sale to sale.  This allows you to keep things tagged from one sale to another.  You can even use your leftover tags to start tagging for the next sale.  How great is that!!

Do I need to give you an inventory sheet of my items I’m consigning?
This is optional.  We are happy to keep on one file for you during the sale.

Why are stained items unacceptable?
During many of our past sales we have accepted items with small stains.  We have also had racks of discounted clothes with stains.  We have found that stained garments take a lot of extra work.  Why?  Would you believe that we have actually had shoppers who will search a garment from end to end looking for a flaw hoping to get a discount?  If we accepted stained clothing, how would we distinguish between good and bad stains?  If stained items were accepted, some sellers would bring everything stained.  There would be no quality control.  We would have double the clothing items and sorting during receiving would be a nightmare.  Sellers would undoubtedly be offended if we kept some stained clothing but not theirs.  We simply do not have room on the racks for stained and non-stained items.  Ultimately, our goal is quality.  We want shoppers to feel confident that purchasing an item from Kids’ Korner will be as flawless as possible for gently worn clothing.  Other sales may offer stained, soiled, or worn items, but Kids’ Korner will continue to offer the highest quality we can separating us from other sales.  It is much easier and takes less time if our policy remains “no stained items.”

Do I have to volunteer in order to consign?
No.  Although the more volunteers the better, we understand that not everybody has the time to volunteer. Click Here to Volunteer

Is there a minimum or maximum number of items I can bring?
Currently there is no maximum number of items that you can consign.  However, there is a minimum of 20 items.

What if I have a hand-made outfit that does not have a tag, can I still consign this item?
Absolutely.

Where do I find wire hangers?
Check with your Dry Cleaners.  Most of the time they will give you a modest amount for free.  If not, ask if you can buy them.  Also, ask your neighbors & friend to start saving some for you!

Do I have to pick up my items after the sale?
Yes & No.  You can elect to donate all or some of your items.  However, We CANNOT store your items after the sale.  We simply do not have the space.  If you would like your unsold items returned, you MUST pick them up at the designated pick up time.  Any items not picked up during the designated time will be donated and you will be assessed a $5 “handling” fee.

Can someone other than myself pick up my unsold items after the sale?
Absolutely!  You can have another consignor, a friend, a neighbor & even your husband pick up your unsold items.  We will show that person where to find your unsold items and have them “sign” that they picked them up for you.

Can I get my tags back from items that sold?
Yes, however; you will need to watch the website for the dates & times they will be available for pickup from the preschool office. This date is usually the day after checks are mailed and tags are only kept for 1 week after that then are destroyed.

Will I get a list of what items I sold?
Yes.  With your check will be a list of the prices for the items sold by your seller number.

Can I bring my husband/wife/relative/friend with me to the Consignor Pre-Sale?
Unfortunately, no, only registered consignors may attend.  If you have someone else who would also like to shop at the Pre-Sale, have them register and consign items with us or consider volunteering and shop an hour before the consignor pre-sale.

How do I get my Pre-Sale Shopping Pass?
Your Pre-sale shopping pass will be given to you at your scheduled receiving appointment.

Can I bring my children to the Consignor Pre-sale?
Yes, children are welcome & you can even bring a stroller.  However, children must remain in your control at all times.

Shopping Questions

What do I do if I want to purchase a large item?
Ask a volunteer with one of the Kids’ Korner aprons to put a “Hold” sign on the item for you.  DO NOT REMOVE THE TAG!!  The volunteer will put your name and the time on the Hold sign.  Your item will be held for up to one hour while you continue shopping.  Items not claimed within one hour will be returned to the floor.  Don’t worry, we will make an announcement & try to find you before the item is returned to the floor.

Can we “try on” the clothing?
Sorry, but no.  We suggest measuring your child’s current clothes at home (inseam, length, waist, etc.)  Most shoppers then bring a tape measure to check for the correct size.

Can I bring my children with me to shop?
Yes, children are welcome & you can even bring a stroller.  However, children must remain in your control at all times.

What is your return policy?
We are sorry but all sales are final.  We ask that you thoroughly check all merchandise before you leave the building.  Once merchandise is paid for and in your possession, no returns or refunds will be given for any reason.

When is the half-price sale?
Starting Spring of 2008 we changed our sale to Friday only.  In doing this we also decided to eliminate the half-price sale.  However, we encourage our consignors to take this into consideration when they are pricing their items.  Our thought is that if all items are priced reasonably upfront, then there is no need for a half-price sale.

Volunteering Questions

Do I have to be a consignor in order to volunteer?
No, you do not have to be a consignor to volunteer at the sale.  We love volunteers!! Click Here to Volunteer

Can I bring my children with me during my volunteer shift?
No.  It will be too difficult for you to work and watch your child/children at the same time.  Many moms team up with another family to work different shifts and watch each other’s kids.

What if I need to cancel my volunteer shift?
If you must cancel your shift we ask that you call or email us to let us know as soon as possible.

Is lunch provided if I work during lunch hours?
Unfortunately no.  We recommend that you eat lunch either before or after your shift.  We are counting on you to “work” while you are there.  However, we do have a yummy Snack Closet with drinks & small snacks that you can visit during your shift.

How do I get my Pre-Sale Shopping Pass if I am not a consignor?
If you are scheduled to work before the Pre-Sale, we will give you your shopping pass during your volunteer shift.  If you are not working until after the Pre-sale, the shopping passes will be available during the consignor receiving times and you may come by any time.
